Folsom Lake College is seeking a technical theatre professional to take a leadership role at the Harris Center for the Arts, a Regional Arts Center opened in February 2011.
About the Technical Director position:
Reporting to the Executive Director, the Technical Director is responsible for leading a team of stage technicians providing technical, stage, and backstage support for events and other activities taking place at the new Center. A key member of the Center’s leadership team, the Technical Director plans, organizes and directs the technical aspects of events and activities, including stage set-up, lighting, sound and related production functions for professional, student and community presentations and productions. The Technical Director oversees the Center’s theatrical equipment sets and their use, including all lighting, sound, projection and mechanical rigging equipment; rents and purchases equipment and stage supplies; recommends capital improvement projects; and recruits, selects, trains, oversees, evaluates, schedules, and coordinates all stage crew and technical personnel. The position’s annual starting salary is $68,617 ($5,718.11 per month) and includes a competitive benefits package that includes health insurance, CalPERS retirement, 21 days of annual paid vacation, etc.
