Senior Management Specialist –Public Art for Public Schools
The New York City School Construction Authority (SCA) is seeking a Senior Management Specialist who will be responsible for coordinating and managing Public Art for Public Schools new permanent art commissions through all phases of development from artist selection to final installation; serve as liaison between artist, various (SCA) Departments and Divisions, NYC Department of Education, NYC Department of Cultural Affairs, consultants, and outside contractors. Other responsibilities will include: leading meetings with various internal/external entities; providing curatorial assistance; maintaining records and track projects; preparing and tracking of all finance documents and contracts; administering insurance coverage; overseeing conservation, restoration and maintenance of artwork; conducting site visits; preparing reports; managing ad-hoc projects.
This position requires experience in public art, fine art, conservation, arts project management, art fabrication/design, curating, or art history. A Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university; and five years of full-time experience in consulting, design and implementation of management reports, or operations, and/or management analysis; or a satisfactory combination of education and experience. Basic MS office skills.
