The Dayton Performing Arts Alliance (DPAA) was formed in July 2012 as the result of a groundbreaking and innovative merger between the Dayton Ballet, the Dayton Opera, and the Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra. Today, the DPAA is the largest performing arts organization in the greater Dayton community, with a mission to be the community’s indispensable source for traditional, diverse and innovative experiences in ballet, opera, and orchestral music. DPAA performances reach an audience of more than 90,000 people annually, and its rich arts education programming serves over 60,000 schoolchildren in 150 schools in the Miami Valley. The DPAA is dedicated to offering outstanding patron and supporter experiences and is now hiring the key role of Patron and Promotions Manager.

Job Description:

The DPAA Patron and Promotions Manager oversees both long-term and day-to-day operations of the Box Office, and ensures a welcoming, efficient operation. The Patron and Promotions Manager is responsible for overseeing the programming and monitoring of all events in the Tessitura ticketing system and tracking daily sales, executing and supervising subscription processing and fulfillment and training box office staff. This role is highly visible and interacts with patrons, supporters and board members.

Primary Responsibilities:

· Represent DPAA as a helpful, energetic, knowledgeable point of contact for patrons, donors, board members, and the general public

· Oversee the Box Office staff by training Box Office employees and ensuring that all Box Office employees appropriately, accurately and consistently represent DPAA in a professional manner in all communications both internally and externally

· Manage training of Box Office team in program offerings, sales strategies and patron retention to support DPAA performance sales

· Responsible for sales, distribution, seating, and processing of tickets including singles and season subscriptions, flex passes, and memberships

· Manage complimentary ticket requests, coordination with community partners, donor ticket management, group sales, promo code management

· Develop the Box Office into an effective sales and promotion force by working with marketing to implement subscriber renewals, single ticket sales promotions, special season ticket packages, loyalty programs, venue signage, and overseeing promotional inventory management

· Recommend policies and procedures to support high levels of customer service, both internally and externally, by overseeing and resolving ticketing customer services issues, and assisting in the establishment and enforcement of policies regarding ticket sales, exchanges, complimentary tickets, staff tickets, and gift certificates

· Work with venue to build, edit, and manage all events in the Tessitura ticket sales platform and creates and distributes daily and weekly sales reports

· Participate in front-of-house management on night/day of show

· Communicate event security needs, manage house set-up before performances, and coordinate pre-performance events as needed

· Train telemarketing teams during renewal campaigns and performs occasional telemarketing functions as necessary

· Manage patron complaints and concerns, assuring each patron a timely and thoughtful response. Maintains records of customer service issues and their resolution

· Work with Education department, Audience Development Committee and Community Engagement Committee to implement programs

· Recruit and manage marketing volunteers and poster distribution teams

Qualifications:

· Minimum of 2 years Box Office management or equivalent experience

· Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience

· Proven history of high levels of customer service, to both internal and external constituents

· Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment providing a positive outlook

· Must enjoy working with the public

· Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills

· High-level knowledge of Tessitura preferred

· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

· Ability to work nights and weekends, congruent with a performing arts center’s performance schedule

· Ability to learn about a season’s productions and sell them to patrons
