The Position: Under the direction of the Assistant Vice President of Marketing, the Group Sales & Promotions Coordinator’s responsibility is to achieve the North Carolina Symphony’s group earned income goals, by planning and executing a robust and effective campaign with the goal of increasing group subscription and single ticket sales patron base.
The Group Sales & Promotions Coordinator will work closely with the Assistant Vice President of Marketing refining a data driven sales plan to cultivate new and build on existing relationship’s ensuring earned income, capacity utilization and new-to-file goals are met. This role is highly visible and interacts with sponsors, corporations, VIPs, patrons, and volunteers.
Achieve reliable group ticket earned income.
Build overall capacity utilization.
Grow overall new-to-file audiences.
Monitor the campaign’s progress and provide progress reports and analysis of results to determine challenges and growth potential.
Improve renewal rates and patron retention statewide.
Build a robust prospecting database statewide to grow the statewide group sales efforts.
Demonstrate the ability to balance multiple projects, meet deadlines and communicate effectively in a frequently flexible and quick-moving environment.
Assemble and communicate with a strategic, diverse coalition of businesses, (i.e. senior communities, clubs, universities, corporations and sponsors) to grow ticket sales in the Triangle and chapter markets.
Manage and attend qualified consumer-targeted lifestyle events that will attract new patrons.
Stay abreast of industry best practices and marketing techniques; maintain a collection of current resource materials.
Negotiate and maintain promotional partnerships and manage marketing collateral for these initiatives.
Work with Director of Advertising & Promotions and Assistant Vice President of Marketing with retention, cultivation and growth of Group Sales.
Offer exemplary customer service which fosters a culture of quality, accessibility and engagement.
Strong project management skills with a track record of exceeding expectations while delivering on-time results in a result-oriented, fast-paced environment where excellence and attention to detail are paramount.
Experience in a Box Office or Sales environment.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.

Must be able to support and implement the mission, vision and values of the North Carolina Symphony; knowledge of and interest in orchestral music is a plus.
