Education and Community Engagement Coordinator

Summary:  The Zoellner Arts Center, Education and Outreach Coordinator will provide critical mission support for outreach activities, community and external relations, and educational engagement for Zoellner Arts Center’s presenting series and special projects. The person in this position will report to the Administrative Director with secondary reporting to the Artistic Director. The successful applicants primary duties will focus on enhancing arts education and community relations related projects and initiatives; creating marketing materials for educational and community programs; coordinating project teams, documenting and monitoring project goals and outcomes and providing event support as needed. The position will participate in planning and implementing the integration of programming activities into Lehigh University academics, programs and groups, in addition to local schools and community organizations through strategic and coordinated planning and communication. The position will prove support the the Any Given Child-Bethlehem project led by the center. 


Accountabilities:
Implement and coordinate the planning of educational and community engagement activities for the Zoellner Arts Center.

  • Coordinate devised outreach activities and local partnerships for the purposes of connecting Zoellner Arts Center performing arts and education programs to local and extended communities as defined by annual planning and strategic plans
  • Assemble project teams with community partners, including local schools; coordinating meetings; assisting with goal creation, outcomes and next steps
  • Execute assigned education and outreach planning goals from the Artistic Director and Administrative Director; enhancing plans and projects for best results
  • Providing onsite assistance including guest artist logistics for preshow events, master classes, special projects and transportation, photo and video documentation, assembling testimonials and other requirements for project reporting
  • Assisting in the creation and maintenance of events, monitoring expected metrics
  • Assist with managing the planning of matinee school programs
  • Timely creation and dissemination of marketing materials and associated planning guides, including promotion of educational and community activities offered at and by the center
  • Coordinating partner and team educator meetings
  • Coordinate Audience Services’ solicitation, ticket sales and general follow up for filling up matinee programs
  • Managing school listings and partner contacts
  • Assist the Artistic Director with arranging logistics and planning details for artist master classes, ancillary programs, and workshops in the community
  • Assist with the strategic expansion of outreach projects into areas targeted by leadership

Manage and coordinate the planning of engagement activities for the Zoellner Arts Center presenting across the Lehigh Campus

  • Manage, coordinate and enhance engagement activities connecting with Lehigh University academics, increasing student attendance, and supporting institutional strategic plans
  • Assist in the implementation of education and outreach activities for the center and material connecting programming; communication to and from the Lehigh community; reporting of activities and attendance
  • Coordinate team meetings assisting with goal creation, tracking of outcomes and next steps
  • Support arts engagement and audience development, as well as the integration of the arts into academic curricula and life at Lehig

Providing additional administrative support to Zoellner Arts Center

  • Assist with the coordination and communication fo the Any Given Child-Bethlehem project 
  • Assist with developing and enhancing local small business and community organization partnerships including assisting in the creation of volunteer opportunities at the center
  • Supervise, document, and report on events as required
  • Communicate education and outreach efforts to various constituencies including fundraising, marketing, and other campus departments as requested
  • Other administrative office duties as assigned
