ABOUT THE POSITION
Boise Contemporary Theater is the only professional theater dedicated to producing contemporary works in the state. For 24 Seasons BCT has inspired the community to examine our perspectives and better understand ourselves, each other, and the world around us by creating thought-provoking stories of the human experience. We are now preparing for our next chapter with a capital campaign to celebrate our 25th anniversary.
As the company continues to grow, the position of the Director of Development takes a critical role as they will continue the ongoing development of the annual fund and embark upon a capital campaign. The Director of Development is responsible for all fundraising efforts for this over $1 million not-for-profit theater and will report directly to the Producing Artistic Director. They will provide strategic leadership in developing and implementing individual, corporate, foundation, and government fundraising campaigns. The Director will also work closely with the Board of Trustees, especially its Fundraising/Advancement Committee.
The ideal candidate will have significant fundraising experience for theater, a proven track record of growing contributed revenue, excellent written and oral communication skills, be highly organized and efficient, have passion for the art of story-telling, and truly be a team player. Knowledge of Arts People ticketing system is a plus.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Develop a comprehensive annual fundraising plan in collaboration with the Producing Artistic Director.
· Monitor and evaluate all fundraising activities to ensure that fundraising goals are met.
· Develop and manage timelines for all fundraising activities to ensure strategic plans and critical fundraising processes are carried out in a timely manner.
· Coordinate and prepare Producing Artistic Director and Board leadership for meetings with funders and prospective funders.
· Execute the preparation and submission of all grants applications in conjunction with leadership and Education Department.
· Oversee research, identification and cultivation of individual and institutional prospects for BCT’s fundraising priorities.
· Oversee the administration of donor database, which respects the privacy and confidentiality of donor information.
· In conjunction with Finance Department, create and maintain Development Department’s annual budget.
· Oversee preparation for all Opening Nights, including invitations to all institutional and major donors.
· Lead the planning and execution of all fundraising events including the annual summer Gala and spring Theater Lab events. Oversee the development and production of all Fundraising related materials.
· Oversee fulfillment of all sustaining membership gifts to patrons.
· Participate in weekly Staff Meetings.
· Provide support as necessary to the Producing Artistic Director and BCT in general.
