Elon University invites applications for a new tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Arts Administration beginning mid-August 2019. Elon's Arts Administration program was founded in 2012 and has grown to serve over 60 majors. This position requires someone who brings a broadly integrated and interdisciplinary perspective to Arts Administration, who holds a terminal degree in Arts Administration or closely-related field, who can demonstrate a significant and sustained research and teaching agenda related to the arts administration of art history, dance, music, theatre, and the visual arts, and who provides evidence of strong teaching skills and professional experience. Teaching will include courses in non-profit and commercial arts management, new venture creation, art law and ethics, internships, and courses in the Elon Core Curriculum. Preference will be given to candidates with academic, research, and professional backgrounds in the visual arts or music. Candidates who have experience working with a diverse range of people, and who can contribute to the climate of inclusivity are encouraged to entify their experiences in their cover letter.
