The Joan Phelps Palladino School of Dance at Dean College invites applications for a part time Lecturer/Assistance Professor in Modern Dance, centered on the Limón, Humphrey and/or Graham techniques. The successful candidate will teach up to nine contact hours per semester of modern dance technique courses, coach and mentor students, hold office hours, assist with dance concerts, produce choreography, and fulfill other duties as assigned, which include attending faculty and College required events.
Qualifications: An earned MFA in Dance, or a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution, and professional dance performance experience is required. College teaching experience is highly preferred, particularly experience teaching undergraduates with various learning styles. Experience with or willingness to learn Moodle, our learning management system (LMS), and classroom media is necessary. The successful candidate will possess qualified experience in learner-centered teaching; use of technologies and/or strategies to enhance pedagogy and the ability to work effectively with a culturally-diverse student body with a variety of learning styles.
