The Manager of Program Outreach will be responsible for expanding Modern Band programs in suburban and rural school systems throughout the United States with a focus on geographic areas that align with Little Kids Rock’s strategic plan. He/She will be the primary point person for K-12 and collegiate systems in these designated areas with a focus on regional program sustainability. Where applicable, the Manager of Program Outreach will represent Little Kids Rock at local, state, and national music conferences and events. This is a full time position.

Outreach to district arts administrators, school administrators and music teachers in suburban and rural school systems throughout the US that align with Little Kids Rock’s strategic initiatives
Assist with promotional and fundraising activities in support of program launches
Create, foster and maintain relationships with districts to build and sustain Modern Band programs
Develop, maintain and promote positive professional relationships with both the greater music education community and potential supporters and funders
Assist with efficacy measures and data gathering to ensure program success based on desired impact
Identify and establish potential programmatic relationships at the district, regional, state and national levels
Understand the music education landscape, identify opportunities and present at conferences that are mission aligned with Little Kids Rock, Modern Band and/or Music as a Second Language
Collaborate with regional team members to create sustainable program scaling strategies
Work in collaboration with the Director of Higher Education and Program Effectiveness to build a continuum of Modern Band programs between local school districts and institutions of higher education in proximity to those districts
Assist with curriculum development that focuses on the needs of suburban and rural school systems
Other responsibilities and tasks as assigned.
3-5 years as a public school music teacher, preferably with Modern Band experience
Bachelors and Masters degrees in music education or related field
Experience working with or teaching at the collegiate level
Understanding and experience integrating popular music pedagogies with traditional music education approaches
Knowledge of diverse music methodologies
Excellent communication skills and ability to work well with team members; a good collaborator who can not only recognize and optimize the talents, expertise and skills of others, but who can also foster enthusiasm
A self-starter, consistently taking initiative, displaying an entrepreneurial spirit and thriving in a fast-paced environment
Project management experience including the proven ability to effectively manage multiple projects, self-prioritize, and adjust to shifting priorities while meeting deadlines and showing attention to detail
