The Shakespeare Theatre Company, located in Washington, DC, seeks an experienced Capital Campaign Director to join our Development Department. Reporting to the Chief Development Officer, this position will be responsible for coordinating activity related to an upcoming $30 million capital campaign, including but not limited to; ensuring communication between solicitors, drafting and designing solicitation materials, maintaining prospect lists, managing campaign meetings and events, participating in cultivation activities, and direct solicitation.
This position requires a Bachelor’s degree and 3-5 years of fundraising experience with a successful track record of researching, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding five and six figure gifts at a comparable non-profit organization. Preference will be given to candidates with local arts knowledge. The successful candidate will have excellent verbal and written communication skills, interact well with donors and colleagues, and handle high-pressure situations with diplomacy and tact. Competitive salary commensurate with experience. Some evenings and weekends required.
