• As a source of non-grant programs and training services, and
• As an advocate for the arts.

ARAC administers eight grant programs for non-profit arts organizations and individual artists and presents the annual Arrowhead Arts Awards which recognize the important contributions of individuals to the arts in the Arrowhead Region. ARAC awarded just over $500,000 to regional artists and arts organizations in FY2014. This funding is made possible through appropriations from the Minnesota State Legislature, the Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund and The McKnight Foundation.
