George Mason University Web and Digital Marketing Manager
The George Mason University College of Visual and Performing Arts (CVPA) is seeking a savvy, flexible and energetic Web and Digital Marketing Manager. The Web and Digital Marketing Manager assists in the promotion of the activities of the CVPA, including the events at the Center for the Arts, the Hylton Performing Arts Center, and the activities of the academic departments of the college. This work includes the creation and maintenance of college Web sites, monitoring the effectiveness of these Web sites, coordination of e-mail communications, overseeing video projects for marketing purposes, and monitoring effectiveness of all Web and digital marketing initiatives. Primary responsibilities of this position include:
Oversee the creation and maintenance of Web sites for the Center for the Arts, the Hylton Performing Arts Center and the CVPA;
Oversee mobile optimization efforts and execution of mobile digital strategy;
Manage relationship with internal and external vendors for Web site, photography and videography needs;
Collaborate with and advise marketing staff about new Web technologies, and digital tools and initiatives such as social media outlets, apps, etc.;
Track and communicate trends in usage and effectiveness of the Web sites to the department on a regular basis;
Assist with tracking the effectiveness of digital ads and other digital marketing initiatives through the use of pixels, etc.;
Ensure Web sites are continually updated in accordance with current search engine optimization best practices;
Coordinate CVPA photo and video assets for marketing purposes, and oversee video editing projects for marketing efforts for the college; and
Oversee e-mail marketing for the Center for the Arts and the Hylton Performing Arts Center.
Demonstrated experience in Web site maintenance and creation experience;
Excellent communication skills;
Demonstrated knowledge of industry standards for Web site maintenance, including content management systems and SEO;
Experience maintaining Web site(s) using a content management system;
Knowledge of Internet protocol, HTML, Dreamweaver, Adobe Creative Suite;
Knowledge of current tools, such as Google Analytics, for measuring digital communications and effectiveness;
Experience coordinating video projects for marketing purposes; and
Significant experience in Web site maintenance and creation;
Experience using Drupal;
Experience managing online event calendars;
Experience using Constant Contact;
Google Analytics training or certification;
Proficiency in social media platforms;
Experience measuring effectiveness of digital ads and e-mail campaigns; and
Previous experience in a university or in an arts environment.
