AMERICAN UNIVERSITY Department of Performing Arts Full-time, Tenure Track Position: Assistant Professor of Arts Management

The Department of Performing Arts in the College of Arts and Sciences at American University seeks a full-time, tenure track faculty member at the rank of Assistant Professor in Arts Management, beginning in fall 2010. Responsibilities include teaching arts management courses at the graduate level, advising students, supervising graduate theses, and departmental and university service. A strong commitment and demonstrated excellence in teaching is expected. At least three years professional experience in the arts, and a terminal degree in an arts, non-profit, or business related field are required. Specialization can include cultural policy and arts-related work in marketing, public relations, financial management, programming, diversity, community development. Successful applicants should show clear potential for achievement in the area of research and/or creative work.
