The Averitt Center for the Arts, a multi-disciplinary arts center, is seeking a dynamic and driven marketing professional to guide the rebranding and revitalization of its operations. Under new leadership, the Averitt Center has experienced a renewed sense of purpose and vision fostering greater community impact and artistic opportunity.
This position is responsible for the development, implementation, and management of all creative marketing strategies and initiatives for the Averitt Center, and all of its artistic enterprises. This position oversees marketing for events at all venues for the purpose of revenue generation and increasing awareness to the value of arts and culture to people and society. Successful candidate will develop and implement marketing plans, event advertising budgets, and promotions to ensure successful sales for performances, events, classes, camps, and programs.
This is an excellent position for a mid-level Marketing Assistant/Associate seeking to advance their career. Candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations or a related field. A minimum of three (3) years of marketing experience required in an arts-related organization; graphic design, social media, long-range planning, principles of budgeting, and management skills. In a small organization, this is a senior-level position, along with the Deputy Director and Executive Director, and demands a strong work ethic.
The Averitt Center is seeking a dynamic individual with excellent communications and organizational skills, independent initiative, flexibility, a person who can handle a multitude of demanding tasks with a sense of humor, and is interested in making a big impact in a growing organization. Strong writing skills are a must, as is proficiency in relevant software and internet marketing resources. This position requires the ability to foster and maintain effective working relationships with diverse populations and the ability to prioritize and handle multiple assignments.
