Taglialatella Galleries is an international art gallery specializing in Pop, Contemporary and Street Art. We are currently seeking a full time Gallery Manager to join our small staff to assume the financial, managerial and administrative responsibilities of the gallery. Our ideal candidate must be highly detail oriented and have at least three years prior experience in a gallery setting. This position will require schedule flexibility and openness to working one weekend day.
We are looking for a candidate who will work as the gallery bookkeeper, overseeing the finances of a gallery with multiple locations. This person will also work directly with the gallery owner and director in making overall financial decisions. This includes but is not limited to creating invoices, overseeing payroll, responsibility of paying all vendor bills and monthly expenses, and must have an understanding of tax guidelines for NY and FL state.
Our candidate will also manage all administrative and backend gallery operations. It is crucial that our candidate be intuitive to the needs of the gallery and formulate solutions and projects to delegate to the staff. All gallery employees work as a team in support of each other and it is important that our candidate be flexible and not above any of the daily maintenance tasks involved with the operation of the gallery.
-BA in art and/or business
-Sales experience a plus
-Familiarity with Artsystems, Quickbooks, Excel, Photoshop, InDesign required
-Candidate must be personable with the ability to communicate clearly with clients, artists,
vendors, and staff
-Bookkeeping experience preferred
-At least 3 years experience in a gallery setting
-Detailed oriented a must

-Create invoices, consignment agreements, purchase orders
-Overseeing payroll and commissions
-Responsible for paying all vendor bills and overseeing monthly expenses
-File monthly sales tax for all gallery locations. Must have an understanding tax guidelines
for NY and FL state
-Manage all administrative and backend gallery operations
-Hire and train new interns and staff
-Oversee administrative staff and interns
-Overseeing the vacation calendar and ensuring the gallery is fully staffed each day
-Responsible for negotiating vendor contracts such as IT, maintenance, advertising, etc, and
economizing if needed.
-Assist with registrar work when needed
-Assist with the execution of art fairs, exhibitions and any other special projects and events
-Assist owner with any personal needs and finances
-Ability to pin point needs of the gallery and create solutions and projects as deemed fit
and delegate those projects to the staff
