Seeking an Executive Director
The Yeiser Art Center (YAC) is seeking a qualified, energetic, and creative individual for the position of Executive Director. This is a full-time salaried position.
The YAC is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation established in 1957 for the purpose of promoting appreciation and creating access to visual arts that serves the region of western Kentucky, southern Illinois and surrounding counties.
The YAC is located at in its gallery and at various locations in the community - including works from regional, national, and international artists.. The organization is an integral component of the city's designation and identity as a UNESCO Creative City of Craft & Folk Art. It contributes to this identity through its established annual international juried art shows and multiple dynamic exhibitions
The center also partners with other organizations that bring national and international artists to the community for residencies, exhibitions, and educational programs. It serves as a forum for artists and an educational resource for schools, colleges, and community organizations throughout the region.
Oversee daily operations; create and manage operating budget; hire, schedule, and oversee staff; collaborate and communicate with YAC board of Directors, committees, and volunteers;
Design, schedule, curate, and install annual exhibitions; maintain permanent collection and loan program; identify and implement innovative community art opportunities;
Research and write grants; coordinate fundraising, including the annual membership campaign, acquire and manage corporate sponsorships and relationships;
Organize educational programs in cooperation with schools and other local organizations; design and oversee youth and adult art camps and classes;
Design and manage branding, marketing, advertising, and social media;
Coordinate and oversee the annual Lower Town Arts & Music Festival - a major fundraising event for YAC.
Bachelor’s Degree in Arts Administration, Art History, or related field required;
Master’s Degree and/or a minimum of two years’ experience in a related position preferred;
Exemplary communication skills with interagency, board members, and stakeholders of the organization;
Experience in community partnerships, event organization, and planning;
Basic office skills, experience with Adobe products, and familiarity with QuickBooks required.
