Sing for Hope seeks a talented and ambitious fundraising executive to serve as our first Director of Development & Corporate Relations. The ideal candidate will be an active, hands-on leader and team-builder with outstanding managerial, communication, and relationship-building skills,
Reporting to the Co-Executive Directors and working closely with the Chief Operating Officer, the Director of Development & Corporate Relations will be an an integral member of the senior management team, providing thought leadership in planning for Sing for Hope’s overall advancement. S/he is responsible for creating and overseeing innovation and best practices in all aspects of Sing for Hope’s development streams: foundations, corporations, individuals, and government agencies.
The Director of Development & Corporate Relations will have an exciting and rewarding opportunity to chart the next phase of philanthropic growth for Sing for Hope, providing comprehensive guidance and overall strategy to grow our donor base and increase revenue to expand our programs.Responsibilities
Develop, implement, manage, and measure a development plan to meet Sing for Hope’s annual goals.
Secure financial support from foundations, corporations, individuals, and government agencies.
Research government, foundation, and other grant opportunities, as well as individual prospective donors.
Oversee grant proposals, liaising with other staff to ensure the accuracy of program and financial reporting.
Manage grant pipeline, reporting, and metrics.
Seek corporate sponsorships and liaise with sponsors to ensure compliance and fulfillment.
Oversee creation of an Annual Report each year to report Sing for Hope’s progress to all major donors.
Manage the donor database and oversee data entry and gift processing.
Oversee organization of special events, including the Sing for Hope Gala, the Annual Appeal, and crowdsourcing campaigns around Sing for Hope Pianos.
Create all required reports for foundation and corporate fundraising
Update and maintain the SFH Development and Corporate Relations Manual and Archive document accurate donor records and timelines, ensuring institutional memory as well continued “best in class / best practices” for nonprofit fundraising and donor relations.
BA (required), MA (a plus)
Five-plus years experience in development with a proven record of success
Demonstrated excellence in organizational, managerial, and communication skills
Effective interpersonal skills and excellent written and oral communication abilities.
Proven expertise in building and maintaining positive relationships with diverse individuals.
Must embrace the core mission and values of Sing for Hope.
