Chief Executive Officer, Center of Wonder

CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

CENTER OF WONDER

Jackson Hole, Wyoming

The Aspen Leadership Group is proud to partner with Center of Wonder in the search for a Chief Executive Officer.

The Chief Executive Officer will support creative talent through fundraising, administration, and operations at Center of Wonder. The successful candidate will lead Center of Wonder’s integration efforts, bringing together Jackson’s creative leaders to provide more effective programming for the general public and students, greater investment by donors, and facilitating ways to allow artists to thrive professionally and remain in Jackson Hole. The Chief Executive Officer is the senior administrative officer of the Center of Wonder, reporting to the Board of Directors, and acts in the role of collaborative leader among local arts organizations with neither the scale nor funding to hire their own CEO.

The arts are an integral part of the history and energy of Jackson. From its earliest days, art has been at the heart of the town, and it is the diversity of cultural organizations as well as the extraordinary natural beauty that defines the “Jackson experience.” Jackson is home to a 60-year-old world-renowned classical music festival, a national wildlife museum, and a surprising array of cutting-edge artists and contemporary music performances. The expanding cultural ecosystem of Jackson requires tending and reflection to keep it sustainable, diverse, and creative.

Center of Wonder, founded in 2007, has a highly valued history of investing in the creative ideas of artists and leaders that make Jackson a stronger community. Center of Wonder creates connections and invests in ideas as varied as an extraordinary vertical greenhouse to after school art programs to artists-in-residencies. Center of Wonder works collaboratively. In this way, it continues the culture of civic and communal engagement that has made Jackson such a desirable community over the past 100 years. Jackson is recognized on a national level as a leader in arts vibrancy and economic impact.

Center of Wonder believes that encouraging the growth of creative initiatives will have a positive impact on the whole community. Center of Wonder’s vision is to transform into a regional arts education provider which embraces wonder and empowers creativity.
Center of Wonder is working with two additional local arts organizations to build a regional creative education powerhouse. The right candidate will integrate these organizations which are each housed within a 78,000 square foot Arts Facility, called Center for the Arts. The new CEO will lead these arts organizations into a new era of programmatic and organizational expansion.

A bachelor’s degree is required for this position as is seven years of fundraising, operations, and/or management experience. An advanced degree is preferred. All applications must be accompanied by a cover letter and résumé.
